Beyond the Book Fridays: Getting to Know the Woman Behind the Words

I’ve always loved learning about my favorite authors. I’ve been a full-on fangirl (or, I guess we might have called it psychotically invested back then) since the third grade. And that was before email… before social media… before all it took was a single fingertip to start a conversation.

But let me tell you, when dial-up internet came along, you better believe I emailed Danielle Steel. And she emailed me right back!

For me, reading the back of the book has always come first. Honestly, I still do it every single time.

To this day, you’ll find me reading the About the Author and Acknowledgments sections before I even get to the prologue. I want to know the person behind the words and the life behind the stories. It’s magical to me.

That’s why I started Beyond the Book Fridays on Instagram. I wanted a place where I could share a little more of myself beyond book promotions, new releases, and my writing life.

So, what can you expect? Honestly? A little bit of everything!

I want to share the things that make me who I am, from everyday moments and favorite hobbies to unexpected adventures, funny stories, and the random thoughts that pop into my head. Some Fridays might be lighthearted, while others might get a little more personal. After all, life isn’t always predictable, and neither am I!

Writing is a big part of my life, but it isn’t my whole life. I’m a woman with experiences, quirks, and plenty of moments that will never make it into a novel. Some are funny, some are meaningful, and some might even surprise you.

I also want this to be a chance for us to connect. I love the idea of having conversations with readers and getting to know the people who take the time to read my books. It’s easy to get caught up in publishing and social media, where everything seems to revolve around promoting the next book. I wanted something that felt more personal.

Beyond the Book Fridays is my way of opening that door and letting you see a little more of the woman behind the words.
